Aztek Muetze Anleitung

Meine Mutter hat mir gesagt dass nach der Strickanleitung fuer die Muetze gefragt wurde. Also hier ist es dann, in deutsch.

Nadelstaerke:  3.75 mm
Material: Alpakawolle, mittlere Staerke, Farbe Grau 160 meter, Farbe Rot (or beliebige contrast Farbe) 140 meter.
Maschenprobe: 20M x 26R = 10 cm x 10 cm
Groesse: 63 cm Kopfumfang
Am Strinbandrand 120 Maschen anschlagen und im Muster wie beschrieben in Runden rechts stricken.

 

Ich habe mit einer Rundstricknadel gestrickt und die Muetze in 2 Teile eingeteilt. Jeweils eine Haelfte der Maschen stricken dann die andere Haelfte. In English nennt man das 'Magic Loop"

Wie folgt: 

Bild 1, das Nadelende dass die obere Nadel auf dem Bild ist, nach rechts ziehen, damit die Maschen auf dem plastic faden liegen.

Dann die Maschen der unteren Nadel auf dem Bild stricken (die erste Masche der Runde ist wo the Pfeil hindeutet), wie in Bild 2. Bitte beachten dass es immer 2 Schlingen gibt, wie im Bild 2 abgebildet.

 

Wenn die Nadel ganz abgestrickt ist wird die Muetze umgedreht. Die Healfte die im Bild 2 oben erscheint ist ist nun die unter Haelte und die Plastikschlaufe wird solange nach links herausgezogen bis die Maschen nun auf der unteren Nadel liegen sodass es wieder wie im Bild 1 aussieht. Nun die 2. Haelfte stricken und vom Wie folgt wiederholen.

 

Natuerlich kann die Muetze auch mit einem Nadelspiel von 4 oder 5 Nadeln gestrickt werden. Ich probier aber immer gern neue Sachen aus.
Also, nachdem all 23 Reihen fuer das Strinband gestrickt sind wird noch eine Reihe glatt rechts gestrickt.
Nun werden die Streifen gestrickt, abwechselnd im Tackt, eine graue und eine rote Masche. Zur gleichen Zeit werden in jeder Reihe 4 mal 2 Maschen zugenommen.

              1 Masche auf beiden Seiten von Masche 30, 60, 90, und 120 zunehmen.

Diese Zunahmen werden alle zuerst mit der grauen Wolle gestrickt. Erst in der naechsten Reihe werden die zugenommenen Maschen dann im selben Tackt, eine graue und eine rote Masche verarbeitet.

Insgesammt 20 Runden mit den Zuhnahmen stricken. Die naechste Reihe in grau alle Maschen links stricken and dann noch in grau eine Reihe alle Maschen rechts stricken.

Nun wieder abwechselnd im Tackt, eine graue und eine rote Masche stricken. Zur gleien Zeit werden in jeder Reihe 4 mal 2 Maschen abgenommen.

2 Maschen zusammen stricken, auf beiden Seiten von den 4 grauen Eckstreifen, genauso wie vorher zugenommen wurde.

Das Abnehmen in jeder Reihe wieder holden bis nur noch 8 Maschen uebrig sind. Den Faden ein paarmal durch die 8 Maschen ziehen und dann ungefaehr mit 15 cm uebrigen Faden abschneiden. Das Fadenende auf die Rueckseite durchfaedeln und verneahen.

Nun noch den Anfangsrand nach innen falten und annaehen damit ein kleiner Rand am ende des Strinbands entsteht.
Ich habe die Muetze nassgemacht und gespannt. Muss aber nicht sein. Sie kann auch sofort getragen warden.

Aztec Beanie Hat

When my husband Ruben saw a picture of a square beanie he asked me: Can you make one like this with the Alpaca yarn that we bought from the Alpaca farm?

The Alpacas are so soft and well behaved

We even were allowed to feed them

Sure, I said. I can even put a little Aztec design in the headband.

Well, as you can see, the hat is done and at first glance don't look so good

After the miserable picture, I went outside to make another picture and propped the hat on a bowl. Well, that looks much better.


The hat is now blocked and to my surprise, Ruben wears the hat. He has had this morning activity on weekends, where he takes our dog Maxie to the dog park. This warm beanie is perfect for those cold mornings.



Ahhhh, and there are the rewards

Many knitters I know (including myself) knit because it makes us calm and provides an outlet for Art. We never really know if we are going to make 1 row or 2 of the 'other' color, if we should knit or purl, and how long until bind off. But we are going forward and 'decide on the fly', we make our Art.
Every Art has its reward, right. The reward I crave and can never get enough of looks like this:

Shelly blanket, hat and booties was a project for a good friend. Her niece was due any day and the crochet items got done, just in time.

All my knitting and crochet projects are complete, today! Hard to believe, but true. In order for me to catch-up on the writing portion of my design adventure, I made the statement:
NO NEW PROJCTS GO ON A NEEDLE UNTIL ALL THE PAST PATTERNS ARE WRITTEN.
That means completed and published.
I am the procrastinator when it comes to writing, so I had to make that statement out loud.

That does not mean I can't create. While gong through my e-mails this morning and making a Christmas shopping list for later today, I was doodling.
Look! Ruben's Alpaca Hat will have Aztec Designs! After designing the x's and o's, I have colored the paper just to get the real impression.

I think this will be a Great Hat!
He wants the hat to be a square beret with ear flops. I know this is probably hard to imagine but trust me, this hat will be truly original, warm and beautiful.
